In the Worship Ministry area, we seek to encourage individual relationship development with God by helping to usher individuals into the transforming presence of God through communal worship meetings. The Worship Purpose is a spiritually-based, administrative umbrella for all Worship ministries. Worship represents the front line of Turner Chapel. The Worship Purpose seeks to facilitate the corporate worship aspect that encourages individual relationships with God. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40
The Greeters Ministry is the first face-to-face impression of Turner Chapel AME. This ministry meets and greets worshippers at Sunday worship services and special church events.
Hands of Faith gives the hearing impaired community access to the worship experience through sign language.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry coordinates prayer meetings, and address prayer request of members and the community. This group also meets regularly to pray for God’s blessing upon the ministries.
This ministry provides visual services for worship services, ministry and outside events. It is also responsible for the distribution of multimedia of worship services and events.
Our music ministry is comprised of several music groups that share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship and provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and be an integral part of the worship experience.
This ministry provides an annual workshop on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
This adult dance ministry ministers through liturgical dance not only as an offering of praise and worship, but also for the purpose of deliverance, healing and warfare.
The Drama Ministry minsters through theatrical presentation and promotes praise and worship from a visual experience.
This adult mime ministry is to exalt God through the creative expressions of dramatized pantomime and build up an understanding of the foundation and formation of mime. In addition, we keep the anointing of God in our presence by being an open vessel for the Holy Spirit to use us in the prophetic pantomime.
This ministry uses flags, banners, billows, and streamers to enhance the worship experience. This ministry is open to males and females, ages 8 to 98, who desire to minister in a way where the focus is solely meant to be on the praise element.
The Stewardess Board is appointed by the Senior Pastor. Stewardesses assist the Stewards with Baptism and Holy Communion duties. They provide the elements for Holy Communion, which includes dressing the pulpit and altar rails.
This ministry communicates the church’s policies regarding wedding procedures to couples planning weddings at Turner Chapel AME. It also gives necessary support and direction to the wedding party during the planning process and on the wedding day.
Members and visitors who are not mobile are transported to and from church on Sundays. This ministry also provides shuttle services between the parking lots on Sundays and during major events.
That Usher Board serves as The Lord’s “doorkeepers”. Ushers provide support that assists with the smooth and efficient running of service. This includes: greeting and directing worshippers to available seating, assisting and providing direction during offering and communion.
The Audio ministry provides audio/sound for all worship services, ministry and outside events.
