This course is designed to help believers discover, grow, and engage their spiritual gifts. As we embark on this journey to understand more about how God has uniquely structured each of us for ministry, we hope that you will find a place of service here at Turner Chapel AME Church that perfectly aligns with the way God has crafted you. Your SHAPE — which stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experience — determines your ministry. Our prayer is that as you progress through this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of how you are uniquely fashioned for ministry.
Understanding SHAPE:
-Spiritual Gifts: These are the special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to every believer for the purpose of building up the body of Christ.
-Heart: Your passions and interests reveal the area of ministry where you can make the greatest impact.
-Abilities: These are the talents and skills you have developed over time.
-Personality: Your unique personality traits affect how and where you best serve.
-Experience: Your background and life experiences shape your perspective and prepare you for specific kinds of ministry.
Key Principles of SHAPE:
1. Every Believer is Gifted: Ministry is not reserved for a select few with seminary degrees. Every member of the body of Christ has received at least one spiritual gift.
2. Discover and Confirm: This course is an exciting journey of revelation and confirmation of how God wants to use you for ministry.
3. Engage and Serve: Our goal is for you to find a fulfilling place to exercise your gifts in the community and at Turner Chapel AME Church. If you find no immediate fit, create opportunities for service where your gifts can flourish.

Meeting Date & Time: Now - February 25, 2025
Every Tuesday
Class Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

VIRTUAL LINK - BOOK OF 1ST CORINTHIANS
Paul spent 18 months preaching to and teaching the Christians of Corinth during his 2nd missionary journey. A few years after he left Corinth and went to Ephesus, a delegation of leaders of the Corinthian Church was sent to Ephesus to consult with Paul regarding some very serious problems and disorders of the Church. Some of the problems that had sprung up in this new church were factions, immorality, abuses of the Lord’s Supper, and marriage problems, among others. Undoubtedly, Christians in our churches today continue to deal with these same issues as the Corinthian Christians. Paul’s epistle provided good counsel for the Corinthian Christians during the 1st century and provides good counsel for today’s 21st century Christians. We invite YOU to join us during this study as we trust the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth!
Register: Email participant(s) name, preferred email address and mobile phone number to LoveGodsWord@turnerchapelame.org and place “1st Corinthians” in subject line.

· Discuss significant current events and how we, as Christians, should process and respond.
· Understand what the Bible says about giving, family relations, loving the un-Godly, etc.
· Explore various aspects of being a Christian such as faith, belief, humility, and salvation.
· Do in-depth study of books of the Bible over a period of weeks,
Through candid discussions, we will share our testimonies, so we all can grow from our experiences IN the world while building barriers so that we do not become a part OF the world. As always, we will learn more, build each other up, love on each other and laugh a lot because laughter is medicine for the SOUL! (Proverbs 17:22). Please join us as we study and grow in God’s word.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL

IN-PERSON ONLY
All Elementary Students are invited to attend Youth Sunday School.
UNDERSTANDING THE 40 PARABLES OF JESUS CHRIST
Meeting Day & Time: Every Sunday @ 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM
HYBRID - IN PERSON Room 115 &VIRTUAL
Facilitator: Kevin Beard
VIRTUAL LINK - Understanding The 40 Parables
Understanding the 40 Parables of Jesus Christ takes the approach of understanding Jesus's parables by examining the genre, spiritual context, and historical culture. The goal of this approach is to “reveal” theology from the Bible as opposed to trying to find verses to support a belief. This is the difference between letting the Bible tell us what is true, versus someone trying to find evidence for what they want to believe. When we allow the Bible to teach us what to believe, we can better set aside our own biases and become more receptive to God's truth.
WOMEN ANCHORED IN THE LORD

prayers vary. We realize that life is a journey and the Holy Spirit is our
guide. Come join us as we seek and pray; study and share; and learn, laugh and
mature in The Word.
MEN OF CHRIST

VIRTUAL for MEN ONLY
Facilitator: Rev. Matthew Harper, Kevin Tolbert & Mac Johnson
VIRTUAL LINK - MEN OF CHRIST
This class deals with ”Spiritual maturity.” Geared
to help men grow in Spiritual maturity and develop a better understanding
of what it means to be a Christian man and what God expects of us as Christian
men. We will have open discussions on what we perceive to be our roles as men,
husbands, fathers, boyfriends and members of God’s church. We then compare
these discussions to what the Bible describe as our roles and work towards
changing ourselves to fix the Bible’s description of our roles.
JESUS' SERMON ON THE MOUNT
Every Sunday
8:00
am - 9:00 am
Facilitators: Kingsley Sackey & Rev. Dr. Rose Ngonde
VIRTUAL LINK - Jesus' Sermon On The Mount
“The Sermon on the Mount”, as it is commonly referred to, is most likely a summary of an entire sermon taught and preached by Jesus on this theme: The Righteousness that is the Standard of His Kingdom. It is the first of five major discourses or subject areas taught and preached by Jesus and presented in the words of Christ by His disciple Matthew in the Gospel of Matthew. During our study of “The Sermon on the Mount”, we will be introduced to the broad purposes of Matthew’s Gospel, the other four subject area presented in the Gospel, the degree of response and success of the beginning of Jesus’ ministry as He went about proclaiming the message of the kingdom and authenticated His claims by healing people. However, our focus will be to study and understand the Character of those in the Kingdom including the Beatitudes, what it means for believers to be salt and light of the earth, and several other subtopics under this theme. We will certainly learn about why there is so much stress on kingdom, and so much emphasis on righteousness. Join us in our study as we discover what The Sermon on the Mount is and what its purpose is for believers.
