VIRTUAL LINK - Miracles of Healing

Join us during your lunch hour for a dynamic and interactive 16-week study focusing on the healing miracles performed by Jesus as documented in the Gospel of Mark. Using the book written by Dr. John Penn, the course delves into these miracles, not merely as historical events, but as profound demonstrations of Jesus' authority over disease, sin, and the forces of evil. It emphasizes that these acts were integral to Jesus' mission as the Jewish healer-redeemer, highlighting the redemptive implications of his ministry.

S.H.A.P.E. – GIFTED TO SERVE
This course is designed to help believers discover, grow, and engage their spiritual gifts. As we embark on this journey to understand more about how God has uniquely structured each of us for ministry, we hope that you will find a place of service here at Turner Chapel AME Church that perfectly aligns with the way God has crafted you. Your SHAPE — which stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experience — determines your ministry. Our prayer is that as you progress through this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of how you are uniquely fashioned for ministry.

Understanding SHAPE:
Spiritual Gifts: These are the special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to every believer for the purpose of building up the body of Christ.
Heart: Your passions and interests reveal the area of ministry where you can make the greatest impact.
Abilities: These are the talents and skills you have developed over time.
Personality: Your unique personality traits affect how and where you best serve.
Experience: Your background and life experiences shape your perspective and prepare you for specific kinds of ministry.

Key Principles of SHAPE:
Every Believer is Gifted: Ministry is not reserved for a select few with seminary degrees. Every member of the body of Christ has received at least one spiritual gift.
Discover and Confirm: This course is an exciting journey of revelation and confirmation of how God wants to use you for ministry.
Engage and Serve: Our goal is for you to find a fulfilling place to exercise your gifts in the community and at Turner Chapel AME Church. If you find no immediate fit, create opportunities for service where your gifts can flourish.

•       The habit of Fellowship.
Whether a new or current member, this class will equip you with the skills you need to begin these habits and explain the tools you need to continue these habits. After all, developing these habits is not automatic, it is a process that takes discipline.

Philippi was a strategic city on the northeast corner of Greece, that was noted for its gold mines. This was Paul’s first European Church, founded about AD 51, during the early part of his Second Missionary Journey (Acts 16). Lydia and his jailor were probably among the converts. Dr Luke was its pastor during its first six years. Luke may have been instrumental in the unspotted character of the church. The Philippian church had a reputation for being one of the purest of the New Testament churches. From this short letter, written by Paul, about 10 years after he started this church at Philippi, we can learn a lot about love, perseverance, humility, and joy, as we study this epistle. Paul wrote this letter from his home arrest in Rome. His continued work for Christ during the hardships of jail can help to motivate us to do some of the many things that we can do for Christ from the freedom and comforts of our highly blessed lives.

Because of COVID-19, we are adjusting and finding new ways of loving, praising, worshipping, and serving our Heavenly Father.

This is a continuing evening Bible Study which will allow ample time for us to:
· Discuss significant current events and how we, as Christians, should process and respond.
· Understand what the Bible says about giving, family relations, loving the un-Godly, etc.
· Explore various aspects of being a Christian such as faith, belief, humility, and salvation.
· Do in-depth study of books of the Bible over a period of weeks,
Through candid discussions, we will share our testimonies, so we all can grow from our experiences IN the world while building barriers so that we do not become a part OF the world. As always, we will learn more, build each other up, love on each other and laugh a lot because laughter is medicine for the SOUL! (Proverbs 17:22). UNDERSTANDING THE 40 PARABLES OF JESUS CHRIST
Meeting Day & Time: Every Sunday @ 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM
HYBRID - IN PERSON Room 115 &VIRTUAL
Facilitator:  Kevin Beard
Adult Co-ed Class
VIRTUAL LINK - Understanding The 40 Parables

Understanding the 40 Parables of Jesus Christ takes the approach of understanding Jesus's parables by examining the genre, spiritual context, and historical culture. The goal of this approach is to “reveal” theology from the Bible as opposed to trying to find verses to support a belief. This is the difference between letting the Bible tell us what is true, versus someone trying to find evidence for what they want to believe. When we allow the Bible to teach us what to believe, we can better set aside our own biases and become more receptive to God's truth.

This class deals with ”Spiritual maturity.”  Geared to help men grow in Spiritual maturity and develop a better understanding of what it means to be a Christian man and what God expects of us as Christian men. We will have open discussions on what we perceive to be our roles as men, husbands, fathers, boyfriends and members of God’s church. We then compare these discussions to what the Bible describe as our roles and work towards changing ourselves to fix the Bible’s description of our roles.

JESUS' SERMON ON THE MOUNT
Meeting Day & Time:  Every Sunday @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Room 116
Adult Co-ed Class
Facilitators: Kingsley Sackey & Rev. Dr. Rose Ngonde
VIRTUAL LINK - Jesus' Sermon On The Mount

“The Sermon on the Mount”, as it is commonly referred to, is most likely a summary of an entire sermon taught and preached by Jesus on this theme: The Righteousness that is the Standard of His Kingdom. It is the first of five major discourses or subject areas taught and preached by Jesus and presented in the words of Christ by His disciple Matthew in the Gospel of Matthew.  During our study of “The Sermon on the Mount”, we will be introduced to the broad purposes of Matthew’s Gospel, the other four subject area presented in the Gospel, the degree of response and success of the beginning of Jesus’ ministry as He went about proclaiming the message of the kingdom and authenticated His claims by healing people. However, our focus will be to study and understand the Character of those in the Kingdom including the Beatitudes, what it means for believers to be salt and light of the earth, and several other subtopics under this theme. We will certainly learn about why there is so much stress on kingdom, and so much emphasis on righteousness.  Join us in our study as we discover what The Sermon on the Mount is and what its purpose is for believers.
