The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is one of the Sacraments practiced by the African Methodist Episcopal Church. It is not only a sign of profession and mark of difference whereby Christians are distinguished from others who are not baptized, but it is also a sign of regeneration or the new birth.
The African Methodist Episcopal Church believes that all children are members of the Kingdom of God by virtue of the unconditional benefits of atonement; therefore they are entitled to baptism. We baptize persons of all ages. Every adult person and parents of every child to be baptized has a choice of any of the three modes of baptism: sprinkling, pouring, or immersion. Under no circumstance can our ministers re-baptize any person.
