Who was Solomon? He was the son of David. He was the third king of Israel. He was the wisest man to have ever lived or whomever will live.
This course will examine Solomon’s life and works. It will look at whether we, like Solomon, live up to the commands and decrees of God. And if we don’t, what are the consequences that we can expect? After gleaning whatever nuggets of information, we can from his life, we will then examine his works--Proverbs, Song of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes--in an effort to help us to grow spiritually from what God inspired the wisest man to ever live, to document for our benefit. Even though some of these scriptures may cause us to question their value or appropriateness, 2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us that all scripture is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. Class discussions will also focus on how we can use wisdom in every aspect of our daily lives—relationships, work ethics, worship, and self-improvement through God’s Word.
This class is available to new Bible Scholars as well as experienced ones.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7.
