LIFE LESSONS FROM 1 CORINTHIANS
Facilitator: Edna Martin
I Corinthians
is a letter that Paul wrote while on his third missionary journey visiting many
of the churches, he had established on his first missionary journey. He settled
in the city of Ephesus and began to receive reports about what was happening in
the church in Corinth that he had previously founded. The believers were
rejecting his instructions to stay away from sexual immorality, struggling with
divisions, and having legal disputes. The believers also had questions about
marriage, eating food sacrificed to idols, spiritual gifts, and the
resurrection. Paul sought to cover each of these issues and more in his letter.
