Inside Turner Chapel

Turner Chapel Purposes

Turner Chapel is organized into the following distinctive purpose approaches of ministry:

Worship

"Worship the Lord your God and serve only Him." - Matthew 4:10

The Worship purpose is a spiritually-based, administrative umbrella for all worship ministries. Worship represents the front line of Turner Chapel Church, seeking to facilitate corporate worship meetings that encourage individual relationship development with God and help usher people into the transforming presence of God. Our mission statement is to Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Fellowship

"So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."
-Romans 12:5 (NIV)

The Fellowship purpose mission is to connect our Turner Chapel AME Church members to each other. Our vision is that our members become bonded together in such a way that they love each other, are in constant prayer for each other, empower each other, encourage each other and minister to each other. This will lead all of us to the knowledge and the feeling that we are one body in Christ Jesus and belong to him first of all and then to each other.

Congregational Care

A new commandment I give you. You must love one another, just as I have loved you. If you love one another, everyone will know you are my disciples." - John 13:34-35

The Congregational Care Ministry provides support for members of the TCC family who are dealing with an illness, or facing the loss of a loved one. As believers in a risen Savior, we are compelled to demonstrate to one another the love that God has shown us through Jesus Christ within the community of faith. We are called to be a caring community.

Service

Each of you has been blessed with one of God's many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gifts well.
-I Peter 4:10 (CEV)

The Service purpose seeks to help members learn about how God has uniquely designed and shaped each individual to minister in specific ways. Whether it be through volunteerism or leadership, we believe that everyone has a gift, and with it comes privilege and responsibility. Our goal is to assist you with discovering the habits that lead to understanding your gift area; thereby, empowering you to use your talents, not only for personal goals but to uplift the Body of Christ and the community.

Evangelism

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
Matthew 28:19-20.

The Evangelism purpose is to promote spreading the Gospel to family, friends, community, and the world with the expectation of winning souls for Christ and growing our church. The Evangelism mission is to evangelize to the un-churched and un-saved.
