Leading By Example
By Minister Daimein SolomonI Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me even as I also am of Christ.
As Christians we are to follow God but how do we follow God without Godly examples living and breathing and moving in our midst. Even as young children we learn by the examples of our parents and our family.
The same goes for our church family.
How we come to know God better is by learning to live as God has called us to through those who are leading the way following the word of God and following Jesus Christ. This requires all of us to examine those in leadership to be sure they are being the examples that line up with the word and also examine ourselves to be sure we know enough of the word to know the difference.
Paul was writing to the Corinthian church at a time when they needed direction but that direction needed not only to taught it had to also be exampled. Paul on many occasions gave his testimony and proved his authority in the church but he also preached with power, with cl arity and with vision. He preached sound doctrine and never was afraid to preach or teach even being threaten with jail or death. God gave him the Spirit and the power and the strength to preach and live with such boldness. When you accept the truth of the Gospel and follow Godly examples you begin to adopt and exhibit the good qualities those examples give off.
Our pastor has a great vision to fill Turner Chapel so that no seat is left without a soul eager to hear and learn the message. It has been five years since the church has moved into this new building and it’s time everyone gets involved in helping our Pastor’s Vision. We all can play our part even if it just saying hey our church is having a great service and I would love for you to come. Invite those who you know don’t come to church even if they say no keep on inviting them then be the type of Godly examples they need to see.
A follower of Christ is also an example of Christ.
Just as Paul preached with passion and power because he had the Spirit of God living within him, to give him strength as a Christian, you have that same power within you. Maybe your gift is not preaching but you can tell of the good news happening in your life, you can give l et someone know what helps you through the week.
You can tell them about a Church on North Marietta Pkwy that is making a difference in lives and bring individuals into the church. You can tell them about the ministry and the work that our church is doing within the community. You can also, if they have a need tell them how your church can meet that need. You can tell them about how God has blessed your life and changed it for the better.
People need to hear and see Godly examples living and breathing and moving. There is nothing wrong with following a man or woman as long as they are God’s man or woman because they will only lead you to Jesus Christ as Paul did. Now is our time to help our church grow to the point that we need to add another service just so all can hear the message. Now is the time to be a good Christian example for others to follow.
The world needs more people who are doing God’ s will and are living sacrifices, those who are willing to give just a little of themselves for the greater good of the church. I know you can do it and together we all can continue to Make A Difference for Jesus Christ.
Follow a Christian example and be the Christian example that leads others to Christ.
