Reverend Kenneth Marcus

Senior Pastor Pastor Kenneth Marcus received the call to preach while in college at Morris Brown College. He was ordained an itinerant deacon of the AME Church in 1978 and an itinerant elder of the AME Church in 1979. Later, he attended the Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he received a Master of Divinity degree.  Prior to his assignment to the pastorate of Turner Chapel, Reverend Marcus pastored the St. Luke/Nimno Circuit and the Greater Smith Chapel AME Church. At Turner Chapel, the Lord has truly blessed Reverend Marcus’ ministry. Within an 17-year period, over 3000 individuals have come down the aisle to give their lives to Jesus Christ and more than 5000 persons have joined the Turner Chapel congregation. Recently the Lord has allowed the congregation to march into its new 3000 plus seating capacity worship facility, The Cathedral of Turner Chapel AME Church. This new facility will permit the fulfillment of the ultimate mission - to provide a place where people can get connected to God; a place where people can experience God's transforming power; a place where people can discover their purpose, their place and their calling; a place where people can be trained and empowered to love and to serve their neighbor, their community, and their world. Pastor Marcus presides over the five biblical purposes of Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Service and Evangelism. At this time there are more than 50 active boards, organizations and ministries operating under the umbrella of these five purposes of which he actively oversees. Reverend Marcus is assisted by his wife, the Reverend Cassandra Young Marcus, an ordained elder in the AME church, who serves as the Assistant Pastor at Turner Chapel. His full-time staff also includes a Youth Pastor, a Minister of Congregational Care, a Worship Minister, a Church Administrator and an Administrative Staff.
